Abbreviation:

English name:
Smaller Lion
Coordinates
see Stellar data

General:

A small, dim constellation lying between the southern border of Ursa major (at the rear feet) and the northen border of Leo. It forms a triangle and though there is nothing of interest for people with small scopes the region contains some interesting binaries.
R LMi is a long-period variable star, which brightness ranges from 6th mag (so it can be seen by the naked eye) to 13.3 mag with a period of 372 days. It glows with a deep red colour making it to a nice telescopic object (as long as the star is at its maximum brightness).
